Case Study

LAMH Recycle

LAMH Recycle is a pioneering social enterprise with charitable status. Based in Motherwell, their main business activities include waste management and recycling, ensuring a low cost, legal alternative for the disposal of redundant office equipment. Their work isn’t just disposal; they rebuild, refurbish and resell PCs wherever possible.

In addition to their waste disposal work LAMH Recycle is known for providing job opportunities in a supportive environment for individuals living with mental health concerns and other disadvantages which may limit their access to work. LAMH Recycle was primarily established to fill a gap in service provision for unemployed people experiencing mental health who needed support to help them back into paid employment.

With the support of North Lanarkshire Council, LAMH Recycle has been able to fulfill its goals and continue to expand. The Business Support Team at the Council as well as Business Gateway have provided over ten years of support to this popular social enterprise.

“Being located in Lanarkshire has brought us excellent business support infrastructure.”

Joe Fulton, Operations and Development Manager, LAMH Recycle
