Clyde Gateway is Scotland’s biggest and most ambitious regeneration programme.
It is a partnership between Glasgow City Council, South Lanarkshire Council and Scottish Enterprise, backed by funding and direct support from the Scottish Government, with the task over a 20-year period until 2028 to lead the way on achieving unparalleled social, economic and physical change across communities within an area of 840 hectares in the east end of Glasgow and in Rutherglen.
Among its early achievements are the building of six office complexes that already support 2,500 jobs in the area, the creation of Clyde Gateway East Business Park adjacent to Junction 2a of the M74, the construction of high-quality and popular community buildings (including the new home of the Happy’n’Healthy Community Development Trust in Rutherglen) and the opening of the Cuningar Loop Woodland Park on 15 hectares of a former tip and landfill site on the banks of the River Clyde just a mile from Rutherglen town centre.

NLW is an employability and training service for unemployed residents of North Lanarkshire.
We are committed to getting people in North Lanarkshire ready for work and into work. In addition we provide a number of additional services such as training help and debt and money advice.
We are also committed to helping new and existing businesses through a coordinated package of advice, recruitment and financial support.
We have completed our Youth Investment Programme in which we helped 6000 people into work whilst assisting businesses right across North Lanarkshire. The programme was introduced by North Lanarkshire Council when unemployment was soaring and the scheme proved to be a success.
We have recently launched our new Prospects scheme. Through this scheme we will assist unemployed people of all ages into work providing one to one support, job matching, upskilling and a number of other services. We will also be working closely with local businesses ensuring we help them find the right person for the right job.
