hub South West and Clyde Gateway have teamed up to hold a Supplier Showcase as part of Lanarkshire Business Week 2017. The event will take the format of a trade exhibition with procurement and property opportunities, learning and information sessions, and numerous networking opportunities. Suppliers and potential suppliers to both organisations are invited to attend either as delegates or as stand-holders. A similar event last year attracted over 200 delegates and stand-holders.

hub South West is currently engaged in a number of major construction projects (c£300m) in the South West territory which includes Lanarkshire, Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway.

One of our hub’s Performance Indicators commits us to afford 65% of contract opportunities to local businesses, enabling as much as possible of the construction spend to remain in the South West area, boosting the construction sector and providing jobs for local resident. We are therefore extremely keen to learn more about our local supply chain members and their capabilities.

Clyde Gateway is Scotland’s biggest and most ambitious regeneration programme. It is a partnership between Glasgow City Council, South Lanarkshire Council and Scottish Enterprise, backed by funding and direct support from the Scottish Government.

Our task, over a 20-year period until 2028, is to lead the way on achieving unparalleled social, economic and physical change across our communities over an area of 840 hectares in the east end of Glasgow and in Rutherglen.

Clyde Gateway has the aim of improving economic activity and recognise that to enable this, it is important that local businesses have the opportunity to meet with companies that provide opportunities for procurement and tenders. Clyde Gateway is delighted to support this event in partnership with hub South West and South Lanarkshire Council.
